This book didn t wow me but it does have some good, basic quilts that might be good beginning quilts for the newbie quilter Many of the patterns were too busy for me in terms of fabric and I likecomplex piecing and shapes I did love the idea of the baby quilt including the baby s name, birthday and weight Very cute

Working with new and unexpected materials can be exciting Sadly I wasn t particularly impressed with the designs a bit artsy fartsy ugly for my taste or materials that require special treatment Cotton quilts can be cleaned in a domestic washing machine but how do you launder organza or silk quilts with delicate appliques

Judging by the cover, I thought the quilts would be really interesting Well, maybe I meant interesting and beautiful The design of the book is fairly ugly, and so are many of the quilts I was surprised to find a quilt included by Amy Karol, and that is indeed an interesting and beautiful one.
